
VIDEO NATION
In
this activity you are going to discover a part of the extensive BBC web
site.This site has a wealth of information on subjects ranging from antiques to
zoos!!There is also a special section dedicated to non-native English speakers,
which you are going to work with today.
In
particular you are going to explore a video site called “VideoNation”.Before
you start, read what the BBC says about VideoNation:
VideoNation is a way to meet people from across the UK and
hear what they say about their lives and the world around them.
- Watch the video clips and test your
comprehension in Listen out! Check what you have heard by
looking at the tapescripts.
- Discover facts about life in the UK in Did you know?
For example, find out how Chinese New Year is celebrated, why people often
'touch wood' and how to play the National Lottery.
- Practise your grammar and vocabulary skills in Language
Fix. These exercises will test your knowledge of idioms, word forms
and tense structures.

and you will move to a new page.Here you should click on the arrow on the video
screen and then you will be able to watch the video.There are questions which
you should do as you are listening and check as you go.You can also read the
tapescript to check your understanding.
